What does D.O.P. stand for?
DOP testing is the method used to test the HEPA filters in NPU’s and H Class Vacuums. D.O.P. is an abbreviation for Dispersed Oil Particulate.
Do you only service SMH equipment?
No, with engineers nationwide who are qualified to service and repair any make of asbestos removal equipment we are happy to service your equipment for you. We will also put you in our smart asset management system where you can easily access all test certificates and get automatic reminders for plant retesting.
What size asbestos fibres do you breath in?
Fibres between 2-7 micron are considered respiratory, smaller and you breath them in and out, bigger and it is considered that you digest them.
What level do you need to have a pass in a clearance test?
0.01 fibres per mil of respiratory size.
What does 0.01 fibres per mil mean?
10 fibres per litre of air, above is a fail, below is a pass

What does P:57381 mean?
This is the total number of raw particles counted by the FC6 during the measurement period.
What does F:995 mean?
Of the total raw particle counts, this is the total number of fibrous particles counted by the FC6 during the period. i.e. of the 57381 particles, 995 of them were fibres. But note these are the “raw” counts, these numbers require adjustment for the statistical probability of a particle being detected and also the air flow rate in order to display a concentration of fibres.
What does 128.716mg mean?
An estimate of the total particle mass per meter cubed, based on them being 1micron in diameter, and being twice the mass of water. This was a hangover from the old FC2, and is a rough guide to the total dust burden.
What does 10.000f/ml mean?
10 fibres/ml, equivalent to 10 thousand fibres per litre, or 10 million fibres per cubic metre.

When will my order be delivered?
We aim to deliver your hire and consumables orders within 2 working days. Any equipment you are buying may have a manufacturing lead time. Your local branch will be able to let you know specifics. If you have a specific deadline and require it sooner our branches will try our best to accommodate you.
Do you offer delivery & collection?
We offer nationwide delivery & collection service. Your local branch will arrange this with you and let you know the costs.
What happens in the event of damage?
If the hired machine shows sign of fair wear and tear then you will not be charged for this, however if the machine has been damaged through negligence, vandalism or user error then you will be charged in full for the cost of repair.
What happens if the machine I’ve hired stops working?
In the unlikely event your hired plant stops working please contact your local branch for advice or a replacement.
Do I need to clean equipment before returning it?
Yes, all equipment should be cleaned prior to return. Please refer to your hire agreement for specifics for different types of equipment.
